OUR STORY
Aspire Athletic Club, formerly known as "Legacy Fitness Club," has humble beginnings, starting in the basement of Chris Wertman's parents' house in Altamont, NY, in July of 2020.
Initially, Chris focused on training high school athletes, aiming to provide them with quality fitness instruction. In April 2021, Chris's idea of establishing a private gym that welcomed individuals of all shapes, sizes, and skill levels began to take shape when his best friend allowed him to convert his garage into a small gym. This marked the first physical space dedicated to Legacy Fitness Club.
Despite the limited area, Legacy Fitness Club quickly gained momentum, attracting over 100 clients to the 600-square-foot garage. Chris's dedication to helping people achieve their fitness goals resonated with the community, and the demand for his services grew.
The vision of opening a public gym became a reality on December 6, 2021, with the launch of Legacy Fitness Club's Carman Road location. This new facility offered a significant upgrade, providing a 3,000-square-foot warehouse gym. The expanded space allowed Chris to cater to a larger clientele and offer a more diverse range of fitness equipment and programs.
Since the opening of the Carman Road location, Legacy Fitness Club has had a profound impact on the lives of numerous individuals, assisting them in reaching their fitness aspirations. The club's supportive community and unmatched atmosphere have fostered a sense of belonging and camaraderie among its members.
On December 6, 2024, Legacy Fitness Club rebranded to its latest identity, Aspire Athletic Club, in hopes of continuing its pursuit of growing and impacting the community and individuals on their fitness journeys. Through the team's dedication, they have created an environment where people of all backgrounds can come together to pursue their fitness goals and become part of a thriving fitness community.
